About the agency

AIO Investigation Group is a licensed Massachusetts private investigation firm founded in 2009 by Thomas M. Whiting, a former municipal police officer, indigent defense investigator, and federal internal affairs certification holder. The firm operates with a part-time staff of experienced investigators supporting criminal defense attorneys, civil litigants, corporations, and individuals.

Thomas Whiting served as a Mansfield, Massachusetts police officer for 13 years, including undercover narcotics work and command of up to 30 officers during operations. He then spent two and a half years as a criminal investigator for the Commonwealth's indigent defense agency, managing caseloads exceeding 100 complex matters a month, before founding AIO Investigation Group in 2009. Along the way he has participated in civil recovery and personal injury cases with settlements reaching into seven figures. He has spent the years since running AIO alongside a full career in federal healthcare administration, where he holds certification in Human Resources internal affairs practice, has served as a grievance hearing examiner, and has led compliance and threat assessment programs across multiple hospital campuses. He is a disabled veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served during Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
